Let´s talk about life itself, about the world in which we live but always having as a reference education as the basic foundation on which it is laid. If we want to create a better world, to be really happy and to enjoy everything we do, including our duties or the role we play in this masked society, we just have to be who we are and, moreover, we have to make the most of this so that it is beneficial for everybody.
We live in a world and, within this, in a society or a highly competitive community and, although we are led to believe the opposite, individualist and selective. From our childhood we are taught to compete, even in an insane and unproductive way. Without knowing why, our classmates are our rivals with whom we have to compete against and beat. Otherwise all the indicators, of course generalized and standardised, will tell us that we are failing, that we are doing something wrong or that we don´t have the “level” for a competition and some races in which we haven´t participated either in their creation or in the choice of the discipline to follow.
The question, or rather the answer, that is imposed on us is WE ARE ALL HERE!TRUE! (Always positively). COME ON, LET´S GO, when it should be WHO IS MISSING?, WHY IS HE/SHE NOT HERE?, HOW CAN WE INCLUDE HIM/HER?
This context, in the education framework, is perfectly exportable to society in general. We are constantly competing, judging and being judged, We hold onto an absurd sense of perfection which seems to be imposed by the rest but we are the ones that put barriers up against fulfilling ourselves, to get our true values and see what they are for and what use they have in our surroundings, in our lives.
We stop being happy to aspire to be what we are not, nor what we really want to be. If this phenomenon happens in the base of our education and in society it will always remain reflected in our professional life.
We have to be aware that we need each other and nevertheless we put up barriers and obstacles that feed our ego but the only thing that this does is to make us more alone and less caring.
We are going through tough moments and if we do not sail together the big wave will sweep over all of us. We have to create a model which works well with everybody because all of us are different but we must not be indifferent. Let´s put the competitiveness in the negative sense aside and let´s join it with the term “coopetitiveness”, let´s cooperate to be able to compete but, ALTOGETHER, either to achieve professional objectives or our personal wishes.
The reputation of a gender or group affects all those who are part of it. We have to promote ourselves as a group and in this way we will have enough strength to succeed. Let´s create the great lobby of life only depending on common interests, without self-centredness, let´s work in team, let´s be happy and let´s say loud and clear and in front of an audience I AM WHO I AM! How can we help each other?
To conclude, I would like to highlight three personal qualities following the theories that according to Carl Roger are necessary to reach that connectivity that will make us happy:
1.Let´s be authentic (be who you are).
2.Work on approval (be positive without conditions, listen without judging)
3.Empathy (put yourself in their shoes)
On a professional level let´s be “facilitators”, or in other words, let´s know the subject or content, the processes or methodologies and above all, we should be capable of “transmitting”. Finally, I am going to take the risk and summarise in two words (in English) my whole argument: NOBODY OFF!,¡QUE NADIE SE QUEDE FUERA!
